Drama Honours

Drama Honours at UCT is a general programme providing a variety of educational experiences in the fields of drama and theatre that intends to empower students to begin careers in the field or to study further. Each course has practical and theoretical aspects. The programme comprises four courses.

All students take:

1. DRM4000H Theatre and Research

2. DRM4017F Readings in Drama & Theatre A

3. DRM4024S Readings in Drama & Theatre B

And then one of the following specialisations:

1. DRM4022W Applied Theatre

Drama Honours

MA in Applied Theatre and Drama Studies

The programme examines those areas in which Drama and Theatre praxis and research, are linked to endeavours beyond formal theatre in theatre buildings: most frequently perhaps in education, development and social justice contexts.

Admission Requirements:

An honours degree in Drama/Theatre/Performance or a four-year degree of Honours equivalence.
